Frequently Asked Questions

WHY USE A TRAVEL ADVISOR?

You might be thinking why would I use a travel agent in the age of the Internet? The truth is you don't have to. However, a professional agent can save you hours of time and provide a more curated experience than you could provide on your own. I have contacts with tour operators and connections that can provide better experiences while you don't have to do those hours and hours of research!

I can also be your advocate along the way should anything come up during your travels.

I work for you, not my suppliers so my advice will be unbiased and customized based on our conversations.

If Scandinavia is on your list you'll want to make sure you visit the stunning Vasa Museum to see this real Viking ship.

WHY MANDO TRAVEL?

I founded Mando Travel for one simple reason: I want to share my love of unique luxury travel and combination of points and cash to maximize your vacation experience. I love the ability to fly on miles so I can use my hard earned cash on super unique experiences around the globe. For example when going to Bhutan, I used Alaska Airlines miles to fly business class on Cathay Pacific to Bangkok and spent a few days at the trendy W Hotels Bangkok on points. I then flew Drukair to Paro, Bhutan and stayed at the incredible Como Uma Paro and Uma Punakha resorts. These hotels and guides were some of the best I've ever experienced. By saving money on the flights I could afford to upgrade to some of the best properties in the country.

Many travel advisors will shy away from mileage/points bookings. At Mando travel it's quite literally what I love to do and I'd love to help you do it as well!

Seeing the Hagia Sophia from this sunset bar on top of the Four Seasons in Istanbul (a Virtuoso property) was an amazing evening.

YOU REALLY HELP WITH POINTS?

Yes! To really maximize free travel you need a plan that includes credit cards. As part of my points service we'll sit down and talk about your travel goals. I'll ask questions like what you're looking for like like access, business class flights and then how much you're willing to spend on credit cards and if having a few credit cards works for you. From there I'll put together a suggestion for which cards would probably work best for you and what type of spending you should put on each card.

I currently have 17 credits cards that I use differently to maximize the different benefits. I'm not suggesting you need to do the same but there are many lucrative  ways to maximize travel. I've learned the tricks and I would love to share them with you.

With the right points you can fly Qatar Airways Q Suites to Tblisi like I did!

WHAT IS A VIRTUOSO ADVISOR?

Virtuoso is the leading network of agencies specializing in luxury and experiential travel. As a Virtuoso travel advisor I have access to VIP access on hotels, cruise lines, tours and more.

Some of the perks you can get booking with a Virtuoso advisor include room upgrades, guaranteed late check out, complimentary breakfast and resort credits. Many of these features are only available through Virtuoso advisors.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

Like most travel professionals I charge a service fee for my time. Fees do vary based on the type of travel and points/loyalty service you require. Generally services will start at $150 per trip. Contact me and I am happy to provide a more detailed fee schedule.

Please remember these fees account for my time to do research for you. This research will be personalized to you and your needs whether price, mobility or luxury level. My goal is always to satisfy you in all your travel needs.
